Frosty & Strikey

Frosty & Strikey

Dsh - male - 3 years and 5 months

These slender boys were adopted from DCH as bonded kittens in 2017, then age 2 months.

Unfortunately, their mum has had to surrender them.  They were in a cattery for the first 3 weeks because we'd been unable to find a carer for them, but they are now all cosy in a lovely large home complete with a human servant and a kitty friend.

DCH always takes back their animals previously adopted from us - regardless of the circumstances.

The boys would love a furever home together soon.

Our ginger boy (Strikey) is the more adventurous of the two and is happy to play with his carer's resident kitty. Frosty is a little more cautious and tends to run and hide if there are strange noises or unexpected visitors so may take a little longer to settle into his new home.

Both boys love a good head rub, in fact Strikey has taken to sleeping next to his carer just in case he can get a head rub during the night and he's never far away when his carer settles on the couch for a night in watching TV.

Our boys are looking for an indoor only home so if you are looking for a couple of more mature kitties to join your family who like lots of attention but who are also happy to laze around in a warm sunny spot these are the boys for you.

Frosty & Strikey has been in foster care since 05 March 2021, for 1 month

Remi

Remi

DSH - male - 3 months and 3 weeks

Remi and his brothers, Rusti and Rudi, are Christmas Eve babies, who came into DCH care at 8 weeks old, and while they had interacted with humans their socialisation was limited and they very scared and hissy their first week in care. After their first week, the boys have really come out of their shells and will seek human attention especially for pats and food, and before you even pat them their little engines are revving and their purrs get quite loud. The ginger-nut boys are very active kittens, and their morning and evening zoomies can get quite energetic.

While the ginger-nut boys have come along way with their socialisation, they are looking for a new family that will understand they may hide the first few days and will need time to settle at their own pace into their new homes and families. Being lovers of food they are very food motivated which goes a long way to gaining their trust. As the boys have not been raised with children, families with children will need to take into consideration that this home environment may take the boys a little longer to become at ease and comfortable.

If you are after company but want a kitten happy to do his own and doesn’t demand attention, thing Remi is the kitten for you. Rusti is a handsome little ginger and is the more independent kitten of the group often happy with his own company and watching the going-ons around the house, and while Remi is learning he has a voice, he doesn’t like being picked up and cuddled, but he is very affectionate and sleeps on his foster carers bed of an evening. Remi will take the longer of the gingernut boys to be comfortable with his new forever home but once he gets there he is lovely, unassuming kitten.

Since coming into care Remi has been raised with other kittens, cats, dogs and bunnies and while he was nervous around the dogs the first couple of weeks, he is a lot more comfortable now and will do the ninja jump at them if they enter a room and he is in a playful mood.

Remi is ready for his forever home now and he has been desexed, microchipped and he is up to date with his vaccinations and parasite protection.

As we currently receive a lot of enquiries for our kittens, please include relevant details about yourself and your home/other pets, to be considered.

If you are renting, please ensure that you have approval for a cat BEFORE you lodge interest.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Remi has been in foster care since 17 March 2021, for 4 weeks

Lani

Lani

Domestic Short Hair - female - 3 months and 4 weeks

Lani was brought into care with her 3 brothers (Don, Toby and Joe) from a private surrender after his mother abandoned him, where he was bottle fed and nurtured for a few weeks.

Lani is a playful kitten who enjoys a good pat and purrs for more, she enjoys a good game of chasing the string and jumping on your feet when you walk past. As she can get under your feet, our recommendation would be to a younger family home as she can be a bit of a trip hazard.
