Django

Django

Shetland Gelding - male

Django is a playful pony who loves the company of other horses. He’d had limited training before he came to us, however with daily handling he has shown a calm and trainable nature. He’s still a little head shy, however is friendly and not difficult to catch, handle or lunge. Django needs an experienced owner who will continue his education, once educated he would suit children as a 2nd mount, or could be trained to harness. He would also suit being a childs led pony, or a companion pony to other horses.

Django was adopted on 20 August 2014 after 9 months in foster care

Sharni

Sharni

Arab Gelding - male

Sharni is a stunning looking arab with amazing paces. He is about 14.2hh, and has a very happy, life-loving nature. Sharni has been well-handled, but never broken to saddle. He needs an experienced home where his education will be continued.

Sharni was adopted on 14 July 2014 after 8.7 years in foster care

Dazzle

Dazzle

Thoroughbred Gelding - male

Thoroughbred Gelding 16.2hh - 14yrs

Dazzle is a beautiful horse with excellent conformation. He was badly abused during the breaking in process, however in spite of this he's a willing, inquisitive and curious horse. He has a quiet nature and is not easily spooked. Dazzle hasn't been ridden for several years so is suited to an experienced rider only. After re-starting or sending him to a trainer he would enjoy long rides, rounding up sheep or cattle, or would make a lovely dressage horse. He's highly intelligent and a talented jumper who can think his way out of problems. Dazzle is tractable, easy to train and responds well to the principles of natural horsemanship; however he's a big, strong horse who requires an experienced and thoughtful person to be his rider/trainer. He's previously been ridden by a 15yr old girl, and due to his history of abuse Dazzle's unsuitable to be ridden by men. To get the best out of this wonderful horse you must be a calm and confident rider who is gentle and caring. Dazzle loves to jump and has exceptional natural jumping ability, he'd also be suited to ARC, showjumping and one day events.

Dazzle was adopted on 25 March 2014 after 1.3 years in foster care

Needs confident rider.

Loved horse, sale due to studying.

Up to date with worming and vaccinations.

Looking for loving home.

Macka

Macka

Thoroughbred - gelding

Macka is a solid type, about 15hh. He is a friendly, kind-natured horse. However, he needs retraining before he can be ridden. This is probably due to back soreness which has since been treated.

**** Best suited to being a companion horse, or if intending to be ridden, to an experienced home only.*****

Macka was adopted on 14 July 2013 after 7 years in foster care

Dynamite

Dynamite

Pinto Mini Pony - gelding

Dynamite is a sweet pony in need of some TLC. He's broken to harness and has been ridden by a small child in the past. He can be hard to catch and is sensitive around the poll due to past abuse, but is improving all the time with regular handling, and would prefer a woman owner. He has come a long way since he first came to us, he is good at floating, leading, lunging, trimming, worming, rugging etc. With a kind and consistent owner he will make a great riding or harness pony once again.

Dynamite was adopted on 14 February 2013 after 4 months in foster care

Hanover

Hanover

Thoroughbred - gelding

Hanover is a stunning young horse. He has a sweet, soft disposition and is easy to handle. He was only lightly barrier trialed as a 3yr old and hasn't raced extensively. Hanover's looking for a home with someone experienced with young, green horses who is capable of continuing his education. He's suffered some past abuse so needs a kind, patient and consistent owner who can bring out the best in him. He has good conformation, nice paces and is an athletic young horse who'd suit most disciplines.

Hanover was adopted on 08 February 2013 after 3 months in foster care

Jasper

Jasper

Mini Pony - gelding

Jasper is a friendly and cheeky little pony. We estimate he is about 3y/o and about 8hh. He isn't too fond of dogs and will chase them given the chance (he was hassled by them one too many times). Apart from that he's easy to catch, trim, tie up, lead, worm and groom. Jasper would suit being broken to saddle and used as a lead pony or to teach the basics of horsemanship to children.

Jasper was adopted on 24 December 2012 after 2 months in foster care

Sam

Sam

Thoroughbred - gelding

Sam is an older boy who's happy being a paddock ornament but still enjoys being saddled up for a plod around the paddock. He is a lovely gentle horse and not much phases him. As an ex-riding school horse he would be suitable for an inexperienced rider or someone who needs to gain back their confidence. Sam will stand patiently for a grooming session, is easy to rug, catch, and is great with the farrier and dentist. He's up to date with vaccinations, worming and dental.

Sam was adopted on 20 November 2012 after 4 weeks in foster care

Zac

Zac

Thoroughbred - gelding

12years, 16.3hh

Zac is a stunning 16.3 Brown/Black Thoroughbred Gelding who is 12 years old and very healthy. He is looking for a loving owner as a low use horse as he has mild arthritis. He would be OK for weekly walking trail rides (slow pace only). Zac would stay at his current agistment at Maraylya. The current owner would pay for agistment, daily feeding, rugging, worming, hoof care and all vet expenses. As a leasee all you would need to pay is $50 a week and you would have full use of Zac and could ride him anytime. Where he is agisted there are lovely grass trails (no road riding required). There are also a few ladies who agist their horses who go on regular trail rides who you could accompany with Zac. Zac needs an experienced rider although he is quiet.

He is great to handle and easy to care for. He gets along well with other horses (all sizes) and is a very loving boy. This would be a great opportunity for someone who would like to get back into riding but may not have the time to visit and take care of him every day. As the owner is paying for him to be fed and cared for you can just visit when you have time knowing that he will be cared for until you return. As the owner is subsiding all of the costs it is also a much cheaper option for you to pay just $50 a week total expenses. You will need your own bridle and saddle and saddle cloth and helmet but all other items such as brushes rugs, halters etc. are available.

Long term lease with continued assistance from owner if required.
