DSH - male - 3 months and 3 weeks

Rudi and his brothers, Remi and Rusti, are Christmas Eve babies, who came into DCH care at 8 weeks old, and while they had interacted with humans their socialisation was limited and they very scared and hissy their first week in care. After their first week, the boys have really come out of their shells and will seek human attention especially for pats and food, and before you even pat them their little engines are revving and their purrs get quite loud. The ginger-nut boys are very active kittens, and their morning and evening zoomies can get quite energetic.

While the ginger-nut boys have come along way with their socialisation, they are looking for a new family that will understand they may hide the first few days and will need time to settle at their own pace into their new homes and families. Being lovers of food they are very food motivated which goes a long way to gaining their trust. As the boys have not been raised with children, families with children will need to take into consideration that this home environment may take the boys a little longer to become at ease and comfortable.

Rudi is a handsome little ginger nut with lovely white markings, and while Rudi doesn’t really like being picked up and cuddled, he is very affectionate and will curl up with his foster carer to watch tv of an evening, and sleeps on her bed of an evening.

Since coming into care Rudi has been raised with other kittens, cats, dogs and bunnies and while he was nervous around the dogs the first couple of weeks, he is a lot more comfortable now and will do the ninja jump at them if they enter a room and he is in a playful mood.

Rudi is ready for his forever home now and he has been desexed, microchipped and he is up to date with his vaccinations and parasite protection.

As we currently receive a lot of enquiries for our kittens, please include relevant details about yourself and your home/other pets, to be considered.

If you are renting, please ensure that you have approval for a cat BEFORE you lodge interest.

You must be over 18yrs old and an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident to adopt an animal from DCH.

Rudi has been in foster care since 17 March 2021, for 4 weeks

DSH - female - 4 years and 3 months

Sabrina came into care as a stray who was living rough alongside of at least 3 siblings. Baits had been put out and subsequently 2 of her siblings were poisoned to death before a kind soul managed to catch her and ask DCH for help.

She is a beautiful torty coloured, short haired girl. She's very small with tiny feet, tail and face. On her vet check and when she was desexed, the vet realized that she is not the under 1 year old kitten that we thought she was but is more likely a very small adult. Her age is an estimate.

Right from the start she's used the kitty litter tray without fail and is not fussy with her food.

Although she is still a scaredy-cat, once you start patting her, she's very affectionate and leans into your hand and head butts you. Unfortunately, her first reaction is to hiss and strike at you. It's pretty hard to go from such a dangerous hard world and be able to trust. I am working hard at teaching her that she is safe now and that she deserves a loving home and family. She will need a family who are kind hearted and patient.

She has been desexed, microchipped, vet checked, vaccinated and has had dental work done. She is missing a few teeth possibly due to malnutrition but is currently having no trouble eating a varied diet of dry kibble, wet food, chicken etc...

*Sabrina's additional dental work has come to $150 and we're seeking sponsorship to help cover this cost**thanks to Mary, Amy, Olena, S Camilleri and Shannon for sponsoring Sabrina's additional vet fees*

Sabrina has been in foster care since 03 August 2020, for 8 months

Mixed breed - mare - 15 years

Tiny is a red roan, approx 13.3 hh.
She has been through a lot: starvation, abuse and neglect. Happily, she has blossomed in DCH's care, and will continue to gain trust in people in the right home.

Tiny has loads of personality! She is very smart and will learn quickly from a patient, kind and understanding handler. She can be a bit feisty in the paddock and is dominant with other horses and around food.

Tiny would suit an experienced home with someone who has time to do groundwork with her, she loves attention and being mentally challenged.

Tiny has been in care for over a year. She requires an experienced home to further her education.

Tiny has been in foster care since 07 October 2018, for 2.5 years

shd - male - 6 months and 1 weeks

Tigger is the smaller brother of Cheddar. Both boy have come into care with two brown tabby siblings who have already been rehomed.
He is a shy boy who will hiss at you but not really mean it. He's happy for you to give him a pat and a tickle under his chin/around his ears. He just needs a quiet home with someone who is happy to take the care and time to teach him to trust. He is kitty litter trained, has had all his vaccinations and vet check and is ready to go to a good home.

Tigger has been in foster care since 21 December 2020, for 3 months

DSH - male - 6 months and 4 weeks

Archie is a very sweet, affectionate cat, loves to be by your side and or on you always. He will wait for bed time and cuddle close to you.

Loves getting cuddles and pats, he will stay in your arms and just allow you to cuddle him.

Archie is a very handsome little kitty.

Archie is okay with our rabbit and our dog, however initially he wasn't and took a couple of weeks to get used to them, he would hiss a lot , now he is playful with them and doesn't mind them at all, when we bring in another cat or dog , he doesn't like it and needs time to adjust but eventually warms up to them.

Indoor cat only please.

Feel free to drop by and meet Archie.

Archie has been in foster care since 02 December 2020, for 4 months

Domestic Short Hair - female - 5 years and 5 months

Camden has grown into a beautiful young adult with striking markings. Needing less attention now she is no longer a kitten, Camden may well fit in with a working person or couple, as easily as she could love an entire family.

Camden loves treats, and sleeping in her little pot with her baby beanie boo possum. She can be shy, but loves affection when she’s in the zone! She likes plenty of cuddles and loves to have a good belly rub, as well as playing, laying in the sun, and chasing things. Oh, and she has a great appetite.

Camden’s speciality is head butting and purring, and she really enjoys being with her human foster family. But, now she really would like to have her own family, so that in a short time this little girl can love you unconditionally.

Camden is already de-sexed, and is up to date on all her vet requirements.

If you’d like to arrange to meet Camden at her Narellan foster home, please contact her carer, Christine - on 0413 317 481.

Camden has been in foster care since 07 September 2016, for 4.6 years
