Dylan

Dylan

Schipperke X Fox Terrier - male

Hi, I'm Dylan. I was a stray and have met many dogs at the Pound, but am lucky enough to be living the life in the Shire at the moment until I find my perfect home. My Vet thinks I'm more of a Basenji cross. I am a slim gent, weighing in at around 5.5kgs. I coped well with my 1 1/2 hour journey from from the Pound and am settling down well. I learnt to use the doggy door within 10 seconds of seeing my fellow canine use it and am a cuddly middle-aged guy. I eat well and walk well on the lead. I am friendly towards other dogs and humans. I will be getting desexed mid April and will be available for adoption after the 22nd of April.

I was introduced to a 2 and 5 year old today, I was welcoming and didn't bark. In fact I haven't barked since being in care.

In the meantime, you can think of me and when the timing's right, apply to meet me at Sutherland. Bye for now, off to contemplate what it will be like without my boy bits.

If you are interested in meeting me, please email my foster carer by e-mail as she works funny hours and can't always answer her phone.

***Meet and greet then 2 week trial pending after stitches are removed on 21st April.

Dylan was adopted on 22 April 2023 after 3 weeks in foster care

Lexie

Lexie

Fox Terrier - female

Hi I'm Lexie, an affectionate and loving 11kg girl. Due to family circumstances I had to separate from my sister and other fur sibling and move to an apartment. The apartment didn't suit me and I was so lonely during the day. I have been having fun at my foster house with another fur friend and we play tug-of-war and I'm so much happier in a yard. I can use the doggy door and I am up to date with my vaccinations. I absolutely love toys and anything to do with water and am happy meeting new friends in a dog park. I am desexed and ready to find my furever home. I crave human company. and need a home with someone who is home more often than not. Another fur companion would be nice. Please note I molt a little. If you would like to meet me, please contact my foster carer by email as she works funny hours and may not always be able to answer the phone when you call. I hope to meet you soon!!

Storm

Storm

AmStaff - male

Hi my name is Storm and I'm an American Staffy with a sunny disposition and a love of people and cuddles.

I am very well trained and know what to do when told to sit and wait. I even know what to do if you say "paw".

I love going for walks and making friends with humans. My previous owner never walked me off-lead and did not desex me so my recall isn't great but I'm desexed now and learning how to come when called.

I love playing in my dog pool back home and I'm fine being left on my own if you have to go to work. I am definitely and indoor/outdoor dog and must be part of the family.

I would suit a family with older children or a couple or individual who loves exercise.

Storm was adopted on 10 April 2023 after 1 month in foster care

Phineas and Ferb

Phineas and Ferb

Corgi X - male

Phinneas and Ferb and sweet elderly dogs who are inseparable and need to be adopted together.

They are approximately 10 years old and don't require much exercise.
Phinn loves a walk and, if walked on his own enjoys going to the park for off-leash exercise or for a 20 minute walk. On the other hand, Ferb is not steady on his back legs and would be happy with a good size backyard or a ride in a dog pram.

The are very attached to each other so need to be adopted together. Both dogs love pats and tummy rubs.

The are gentle with children and are gentle by nature.

They should be fed good quality tinned dog food.

Note: The adoption fee is for Phin only Ferb comes with Phin at no extra charge. Phinneas is NOT available for adoption on his own.

Phineas and Ferb was adopted on 20 March 2023 after 2 months in foster care

Goldie

Goldie

Cattle Dog - female

Goldie is in DCH care after receiving life-saving surgery for pyometra.

She is building back to a healthy weight with all the good food she’s been having and is working on her confidence and training.

Behavior wise she is slowly but steadily gaining confidence. She is learning new skills to sit and come when called. She walks well on the leash and is always friendly to other dogs. She does not bark or growl. You can take food out of her mouth and she won’t complain. She loves treats and pats on her chin.

Update Dec22: Thank you to everyone who donated towards Goldie's vet bills, her additional surgery costs have now been fully covered

We had an $800 vet bill for Goldie's surgery and have received some significant donations towards her bills. If you could help contribute towards her ongoing care, donations are welcome.
