Sadly Dusty was hit by a car yesterday and didn't make it. Our sympanthies to her carer and we hope Dusty is happy over the rainbow bridge after all she'd been through
Dusty is a lovely little girl who has had a rough life. She was found roaming the streets scared and hungry. When she was finally brought into care she was in a very poor state having mammary lumps, skin irritations, ear infections and on top of all that she was pregnant. Since being in care she has had the mammary lumps removed (they turned out to be nothing serious) and her ear and skin infections are all healed. Dusty has been an asset to her foster carers home, she is very well behaved follows you whereever you are in the house, she just loves to sit on your lap at night and she adores all the attention. Dusty is quite a big Jack Russell weighting around 8kgs. Patches of her fur have been shaved due to her skin problems but when it grows back she will have a lovely coat. Dusty isn't a typical on-the-go-Jack russell she is very laid back and wouldn't need a lot of exercise she is just happy lazying around the house all day. She doesn't walk on the lead but once she gets to know you she will just follow you around off the lead, she is toilet trained and will hold on until she can go outside to do her business. Dusty will be ideally suited to a home where her new mum or dad will be home quite a lot she gets on with other dogs and cats but would prefer to be a only pet so she can get all the attention she deserves. She would not suit a home with children as she can get quite scared if you raise your voice.

Sadly Roxann didn't making after coming down with a gastro bug from the pound, she will be sadly missed by her carer and all those who gave her a second chance after she was dumped Roxann was surrendered to the pound as her neighbours loved using the hose and she thought it was play time so she would bark at them and they would then open her gate and let her out, she would run to them to play seeing they let her out and then they would hose her down and scream at her and at her owner. This girl is such a delight, well mannered and lovely and friendly. She loves other dogs, her food, cuddles and walks well on a lead and generally is just a really nice soft natured girl who loves to be with you. She is not ready for go to her new home just yet as she came into season and caught kennel cough at the pound and we just need a few weeks until she can be desexed but she is certainly available for a deposit to be taken on her. She was not housetrained but is learning very quickly as she is very bright and just wants to please you.
Whippett - male
Tom acts alot younger than his grey hairs would depict
he enjoys playing with other dogs of all ages and sizes, whether it's a wrestle, a chase game or whatever's going! Not winning many beauty contests, Tom certainly makes up for it by being the most well-mannered and gentle boy you could ever ask for. Tom is a bit 'chunkier' than most whippets with a solid chest but has the most beautiful shiny black and white speckled coat. He can easily be left for longer periods yet prefers to be close when his his people come home, a definate home-body. He is very quiet boy (I've haven't even heard him bark) and sleeps through the night on his bed. Tom has a beautiful nature and keeps a loving watch over Louis wherever he goes. Tom relys heavily on other dogs for confidence so he must go to a home where there is another dog.
